While it??™s nice to give the user greater confidence in your application by using a trusted
publisher, many users will give your application permission to install anyway, as long as
it comes from a website that they trust.

Publishing your project using ClickOnce
To publish your project using ClickOnce, you need to do the following, all of which are discussed
later in this chapter:
n Sign your application manifest and deployment manifest, so that no one can tamper with
your application on the Web.
n Choose your options for how you want ClickOnce to check for updates.
n Inform ClickOnce whether you want your application to be online only, or an
online/offline application.
n Specify the URL from which you want to publish your application.
Visual Studio then publishes your application as a ClickOnce application and deploys it on the
Web server that you specify. Then any time that you make changes, you can re-publish your application,
and Visual Studio updates the version number and re-deploys your application, so that
users can automatically receive the updates.
