For information on adding images into Blend, see Chapter 6.
Using Expression Media to Enhance
your Images
You may find when using Blend that you may want to improve the quality of an image that
you add to your project. Expression Design offers many filters for doing this, but Expression
Media offers some interesting filters as well. Expression Media, also known as iView MediaPro
can be downloaded at www.iview-multimedia.com/downloads/. A 21-day free trial
is offered.
Of course, you can always use Photoshop or the free software application, GIMP, as well as numerous
other applications that are designed to enhance picture quality. Because you add images to
Blend using standard file formats, such as JPEG, TIF, BMP, and more, the choices available to
enhance your images are numerous.
Improving your images with Expression Media filters
Expression Media has a feature to enhance picture quality. For example, the image on the left in
Figure 7.18 is enhanced to become the figure on the right, using the Auto Enhancement feature.
To use this feature, first import your image into Expression Media by choosing File ??? Import
Items ??? From Files/Folders. Browse to your file and select it, then choose Window ??? Image
Editor and click Auto Enhancement from the list.
