5. To adjust the volume, select the track. Move the playhead to the time at which you
want to change the volume, open the Properties panel, and set the Volume property in the Media
palette to zero or one or any decimal in between. (One is loudest; zero is silence.) This creates a
keyframe in your timeline. If you want to view the change in the Volume property, click the
expander??”the Volume property is one of the tracks beneath your sound file??™s track.

Blend can do some sound mixing, but for anything other than simple volume control,
you may want to mix the sound in another application and bring the sound into Blend
as a single file that is ready to go.
Summary
You can apply assorted fundamental principles of animation to elements of your user interface to
add more realism to your interface design and to make it more appealing. Some of these principles
of animation are:
n Solid objects may squash on impact and while showing this you may want to show that
the total mass remains constant.
n Large heavy objects move more slowly than small light objects.
