Adding panels into the artboard
To add a panel, you can either double-click on its button in the Toolbox, causing the panel to
appear in the upper-left corner of the artboard, or you can click its button and click and drag in
the artboard to position it in the artboard. To locate the button for the panel that you want to create,
click and hold the button that displays a panel icon in the Toolbox, and in the popup menu
that appears, choose the icon for your panel type. (Tooltips are provided to help you figure out
which panel is which.)
Making your panels visible in the artboard
Panels have no background by default, so you may want to add a background to them to make
them visible when they aren??™t selected. Another way you can make your panel visible is to choose
View ??? Show Object Boundaries. A blue border appears around the panel when it??™s not selected,
reminding you that it??™s there.
Sizing, positioning, and auto sizing panels
You can position and resize panels, just as you position other objects, by doing any of the following:
n Using the Selection tool to select the panel and drag it where you want it, or to select
the panel and resize it using its object handles.
n Using the Layout palette to set values for Width, Height and Margins.
