You can use the connection cable that came with your camera to transfer images to the PC, or
use a memory card reader to directly insert a memory card (see Figure 1-9) into your PC as if it
were a floppy disk.
There are four major kinds of memory cards in use today:

indication of what size memory card??”or how many memory cards??”to take on your next
family vacation. This chart is just approximate, because the exact number of pictures you
can fit on a memory card depends upon how much compression your camera applies to each
picture:

memory card??”all that matters is the resolution of the images and the memory card??™s
total capacity, measured in megabytes or gigabytes.
