"How to Do Everything: Digital Camera 5 edition"

Later, you might get
more comfortable with the art of photo editing and decide you??™d rather have a different program. But
for the most part, all photo editors give you the capability to do certain things, such as:
?–  Resize and crop your images
?–  Correct the exposure and colors in a photo
?–  Selectively ???erase??? parts of a photo
?–  Remove red eye from photos that were taken with a flash indoors
In addition, most photo editors also give you these additional abilities:
?–  Select specific regions of a picture and apply changes to just those instead of the entire
image
?–  Apply ???paint??? to your image using a set of brushes and other paint tools
?–  Add text and other graphics
?–  Combine multiple images into a new composition
That??™s certainly a quick overview of photo editing, but the point is that there are a lot of
programs around that can get the job done. Which one is for you? Well, you might want to start
with a free one. If your digital camera came with a photo editor of some sort, you might want to
give it a spin and see if you like the way it works.
You might find, though, that your photo editing program relies on automatic tools like oneclick
fixes and wizards that change your image for you without giving you a lot of control over
what happens.
