"How to Do Everything: Digital Camera 5 edition"

You can choose one of the
sites I??™ve listed in the preceding table, or you can go with another site I haven??™t mentioned. Even
sites that charge a subscription fee usually have a free version or a trial period you can use to get
your feet wet. Let??™s suppose you wanted to try Flickr. Here??™s what you need to do:
1. If you don??™t already have an account at Flickr, create one by clicking Sign Up. Don??™t
worry??”this is free.
2. After you have an account, log in and open your Flickr page. You can get there by going
to flickr.com and then clicking the link marked You at the top of the page.
3. Click Upload Photos.
4. Click Browse, find the pictures on your computer, and then click Open. You can upload
as many as six photos at once.
CHAPTER 18: Share Your Pictures 409
5. You can optionally assign tags to each of the pictures (if you want to associate more than
one tag with a picture, put a space between each tag), and then click Upload.
That??™s the standard way to upload photos, but there??™s a far more convenient method available
as well??”install the Uploadr tool on your computer. Using this program, adding photos to your
Flickr page is as easy as dragging and dropping files. To install Uploadr, open your Flickr page
and then click the Tools link in the Help section at the bottom of the page.
