and share new metrics remains a problem. From these observations, we will proceed
to investigate current work on the definition of QoS metrics using ontologies.
QoS-Related Service Description with Ontology Definition
WSOL provides formal representation of various constrains as well as management
statements. Its major feature is its rich set of reusability constructs, lightweight
management infrastructure, and dynamic switching protocol. Their definition of
QoS metrics about how they are measured or computed is done in external ontologies.
Compared with WSOL, our specification uses the uniform ontology language
rather than the hybrid solution to achieve easier integration.
WS-QoS defines the XML schema for Web services to describe their services??™ QoS
properties, which assists the service selection and publish through their service
supporting system. It uses ontology style to define custom metrics. Our work uses
ontology to define custom metrics as well.
