sharing may represent a fad, including such buzzwords as ???expert systems, KM,
data mining, intranets, extranets, universal in-boxes, paperless offices, and executive
information systems??? (Craig & Mittenthall, 2000, p. 38). In contrast to fads, a
true focus on knowledge sharing capitalizes on the ???best brains??? in an organization,
regardless of their location or position in that organization (Duffy, 2001a).
